Hi, I’m Jen — veteran, animal lover, and the person behind every fur baby update you receive from Furriendly Critter Sitters.

Furriendly Critter Sitters was born from a very personal experience.

For 15 years, I had a dog who meant the world to me. During his entire life, I only took one week-long vacation because I was terrified to leave him in someone else’s care. I worried constantly about whether he would be safe, happy, and loved while I was away. I knew I couldn’t be the only pet owner who felt that way.

That experience inspired me to create a service that would give pet parents the freedom to travel, work, or handle life’s responsibilities without worrying about their pets. I wanted to be the person I had always wished I could find for my own dog.

In 2021, I began pet sitting through various pet care apps. The business grew quickly, and before long I had built a reputation as one of the most trusted pet care providers in the area. I realized the apps were charging fees to both pet owners and sitters — and that their guarantees were little more than promises. I knew I could do better.

I got business insurance, established Furriendly Critter Sitters LLC, and built a professional pet care company around one mission: give pet parents the freedom to live their lives without worrying for a second about the pet they left at home.

The moment a nervous fur baby finally relaxes around her. She takes continued education seriously — not because it’s required, but because every pet deserves someone who actually knows what they’re doing. Showing up when she says she’ll show up. Communicating like a professional. Treating every pet like it’s her own. That’s not a tagline — for Jen, it’s the only way to work. She built Furriendly Critter Sitters around one simple belief: your pet’s comfort comes first, always.

Before any service ever starts, there’s a Meet & Greet — because Jen doesn’t believe in showing up and winging it. Every sitter on her team goes through the same pet care training she holds herself to. Fear-Free certified and driven by continuing education, Jen’s philosophy is simple: your pet’s comfort leads every decision. Not speed, not convenience — comfort. That means going at each animal’s pace, adjusting to their personality, and never cutting corners to finish a visit faster.

Experience with Special Needs

Jen has direct hands-on experience with medication administration (oral, eye drops, ear drops), senior pets, anxious and reactive animals, and exotic species including sugar gliders. Her team is trained for special needs and every care plan is reviewed thoroughly at the Meet & Greet so nothing catches anyone off guard.

Through Critter Sitter Companions, our nonprofit arm, we provide free pet care to seniors and low-income residents in Northern Brevard County. Giving back is part of who we are.
