Titusville’s Summer Dog-Walking Tips to Keep Your Pet Safe

It's finally summer, and that means longer days and plenty of time to get out and enjoy the sunshine with your furry friend.


But, before you head out on those long walks, make sure you're prepared with these tips to keep your pet safe during the warm weather. From keeping them hydrated to watching out for hot pavement, follow these simple tips to ensure a safe and fun summer season for both you and your pet!

  • Make sure your pet is wearing a collar with ID tags in case they get lost—you don’t want to be worrying about losing your pet while you’re trying to enjoy the sun!

  • Carry water and a bowl for your pet to drink from, especially if you’re going on a long walk.

  • Bring a small first-aid kit in case of emergencies.

  • Always keep your pet on a leash when you go for a walk, even in your own backyard.

  • If it’s hot outside, avoid walking your pet during the hottest hours of the day.
